Why quit dipping?
You should quit dipping for yourself, your family and loved ones. Not only do the choices you make to dip affect you and your body, the costs of dipping- like cancer and heart disease- can greatly impact your family and friends. According to the American Cancer Society some of the risk factors (and best reasons to quit dipping) include:
- Mouth, gum, tongue, and throat cancer
- Cancer in the Esophagus (the tube that runs from your mouth to your stomach)
- Stomach Cancer
- Pancreatic Cancer
- Increased risk for heart disease, heart attacks, and strokes
- Nicotine addiction
- Sores in the mouth that can become cancerous
- Receding gums
- Bone loss around the roots of the teeth
- Wearing down of teeth
- Tooth loss
- Stained teeth
- Bad breath
Not only do these risk factors affect your health, many of them can cause death. However, ALL of these risk factors can be prevented if you just know how to quit dipping and decide to quit for good. Let us join you on your path to success.

Have a great day.
I am 46 and I have been dipping since the 8th grade and need help to quit. I have tried in the pass with no success. I don’t know where to turn.
Hi Mark,
You have already taken the first step, that is to admit you have a problem and need help. The next step is to visit http://howtoquitdipping.org/quit-dipping-tips/ to help you understand nicotine addiction and how to fight it. Find a good safe alternative to tobacco. A good fourth step is to join a support group like http://www.killthecan.org. You don’t have to do this alone. Visit us at http://www.facebook.com/BaccOff and learn how we have helped thousands just like yourself quit dip.
Thanks for posting and congrats on your commitment to quit!
Mark, check out killthecan.org, there is great support there. I have been quit 17 days after dipping non stop for 30 years. Look me up under papabear1986
Is the non tobacco dip still bad for my gums. That’s my reason to quit is because my gums are receding so much and my teeth look so bad that I’m embarrassed and don’t smile. I don’t think I can help my gums but I don’t want them and my teeth getting worse and then I’ll have to have my teeth worked on. I live with continuous back pain and can’t work so I dip to help give me something to do to help get my mind off the pain.
Scotty,
Our products contain sugar, though not as much as most tobacco products. If you are not concerned about cancer, gum disease, tooth decay, chronic bad breath, or nicotine addiction, you may not have the motivation required to deal with the withdrawal symptoms. If you are, you should give us a try.
Thanks for posting.

Hi everyone! Well I don’t dip myself but my husband does, he has quit once before when we first started dating, but picked it back up again shortly after. We are now expecting our first baby in 3 months and he says he is going to quit by the time she is born because he doesn’t want to be doing that around her, but has yet to put any motivation into actually quitting. I sent him the link to this site today hoping it would encourage him, what else can I do to help him get on the road to quitting?? I am a nurse so I understand the effects that addiction has on the body, I just am not sure what will be most helpful to him right now to help him quit
Hi Molly,
The most important components in successfully beating tobacco addiction are desire, commitment, and positive attitude. If your husband has these there are some things you can do to help. Dipstop, inc. created the very successful “Can Do” program over fifteen years ago. It combines gradual nicotine reduction with a structured partner support system.
